As you may know, over the last few weeks the cover articles for our bulletin have been covering chapter six of John’s Gospel – Jesus is the Bread of Life. Also known as the Bread of Life Discourse

This week, however, I want to interrupt this series with some very exciting and important news. We have hired a new Director of Family Faith Formation, and I think a wonderful way to welcome her is by hearing directly from Ann (Valley).

Dear Catholic Community of Northern Columbia County (CCNCC) Community –

I want to share how pleased and excited I am to take on the role of Director of Faith Formation with CCNCC. I have been a part of the CCNCC/St. John’s community since 1988 when my husband, Steve, and I moved to Valatie. Although beginning a career in engineering, I soon realized that a stronger calling for me was being at home with my children as well as following a desire to become a teacher. Our three children, now adults, all grew up being enriched by the parish’s active and caring community. My calling to teach was satisfied by completing a graduate degree in education as well as certifications as a Catechist, a Lector, and a Eucharistic Minister. I began formal classroom teaching in 2007 at Holy Spirit School in East Greenbush. Since then, I have held and embraced several teaching positions within Albany Diocesan schools, instructing grades 5 through 12 in various subjects including Religion. I have been blessed to teach in environments where sharing faith is as central as sharing math and science lessons. Now, I am excited to be returning home to an even larger community that has been foundational for my family. I look forward to being a dedicated component of the community’s service to youth and families, and to encouraging their desire to build, live, and share their own faith. Como ya sabrán, durante las últimas semanas los artículos de portada de nuestro boletín han versado sobre el capítulo seis del Evangelio de Juan: Jesús es el Pan de Vida. También conocido como el Discurso del Pan de Vida.

Esta semana, sin embargo, quiero interrumpir esta serie con una noticia muy emocionante e importante. Hemos contratado a una nueva Directora de Formación en la Fe de la Familia, y creo que una manera maravillosa de darle la bienvenida es escuchando directamente de Ann (Valley).

Querida Comunidad Católica del Norte del Condado de Columbia (CCNCC) Comunidad -

Quiero compartir lo contenta y emocionada que estoy de asumir el papel de Directora de Formación en la Fe con CCNCC. He sido parte de la comunidad de CCNCC/St. John's desde 1988 cuando mi esposo, Steve, y yo nos mudamos a Valatie. Aunque comencé una carrera en ingeniería, pronto me di cuenta de que un llamado más fuerte para mí era estar en casa con mis hijos, así como seguir el deseo de convertirme en maestra. Nuestros tres hijos, ahora adultos, crecieron enriquecidos por la comunidad activa y solidaria de la parroquia. Mi vocación de enseñar fue satisfecha completando un postgrado en educación, así como certificaciones como Catequista, Lector y Ministro de la Eucaristía. Comencé a enseñar formalmente en 2007 en la Escuela del Espíritu Santo en East Greenbush. Desde entonces, he tenido y abrazado varias posiciones de enseñanza dentro de las escuelas Diocesanas de Albany, instruyendo grados 5 a 12 en varias materias incluyendo Religión. He tenido la bendición de enseñar en ambientes donde compartir la fe es tan central como compartir lecciones de matemáticas y ciencias. Ahora, estoy emocionada de regresar a casa a una comunidad aún más grande que ha sido fundamental para mi familia. Espero ser un componente dedicado del servicio de la comunidad a los jóvenes y las familias, y alentar su deseo de construir, vivir y compartir su propia fe.
