Today, the same Jesus whose Paschal Mystery (that is His life, death, and resurrection) we celebrate every time we get together for mass, will be speaking with each of us just as He spoke with the two disciples walking downtrodden away from Jerusalem. It will not be one of the prophets or saints or some theologian or priest, but the true Lord and Savior Jesus.  What does He have to say to you? He knows exactly where you are in your life and your faith journey! He will meet you there.  All each of us need to do is to listen! If you have doubts, He has the answers. The disciples who met Jesus on the road in today’s Gospel felt their hearts burning as they encountered Jesus, because they listened and were open to Him and His Word. Jesus wants to stir your heart, mind, soul, and spirit.  Will you let Him?

Do you want a deeper, stronger faith?  Jesus wants that for each of us and wants even more for you! Open yourself up as best you can and listen as He speaks His words in the Scriptures, in your ears and in your hearts.  What do you hear Him saying to you? Please make the time to re-read (slowly) today’s Gospel or all of today’s readings and pray: “Jesus, let me hear you in a way that I have never heard You before.”  Amen. Alleluia!

Hoy, el mismo Jesús cuyo misterio pascual (es decir, su vida, muerte y resurrección) celebramos cada vez que nos reunimos para la misa, estará hablando con cada uno de nosotros tal como habló con los dos discípulos que se alejaban oprimidos de Jerusalén. No será uno de los profetas o santos o algún teólogo o sacerdote, sino el verdadero Señor y Salvador Jesús. ¿Qué tiene Él que decirte? ¡Él sabe exactamente dónde te encuentras en tu vida y en tu viaje de fe! Él te encontrará allí. ¡Todo lo que cada uno de nosotros necesita hacer es escuchar! Si tienes dudas, Él tiene las respuestas. Los discípulos que se encontraron con Jesús en el camino en el Evangelio de hoy sintieron que su corazón ardía al encontrarse con Jesús, porque escucharon y estuvieron abiertos a Él y a Su Palabra. Jesús quiere conmover tu corazón, mente, alma y espíritu. ¿Lo dejarás?

¿Quieres una fe más profunda y más fuerte? ¡Jesús quiere eso para cada uno de nosotros y quiere aún más para ti! Ábrete lo mejor que puedas y escucha mientras Él habla Sus palabras en las Escrituras, en tus oídos y en tu corazón. ¿Qué escuchas que Él te dice? Tómese el tiempo para volver a leer (lentamente) el Evangelio de hoy o todas las lecturas de hoy y orar: “Jesús, déjame escucharte de una manera que nunca te había escuchado antes”. Amén. ¡Aleluya!
