Happy Easter Sacrament Season

As you know, there are four seasons on the calendar: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. On the Universal Church Liturgical Calendar, there are three primary seasons: Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter, and Ordinary Time (divided into two sections). However, there are other ways of looking at the church seasons, which I’d like to point out today. First is the Easter Sacrament Season – Holy Communion and Confirmation are very prevalent (along with Baptism). Second is the Season of Pentecost – when the Holy Spirit was sent to the Apostles and is considered the “Birthday of the Church.”

While Pentecost is two weekends away (see separate notice inside), we have already had a wonderful Easter Sacrament season here in the Catholic Community of Northern Columbia County (CCNCC). Nine Adults were either Baptized and/or Confirmed at the Easter Vigil, Sixteen Young Adults were recently confirmed in April, and today, the final four (of the 34) children are receiving their First Holy Communion.  Let us continue to pray for all those who have received the sacraments this Easter Season.

We also had four Baptisms, approximately 22 first reconciliations as well as a number of second reconciliations, and next weekend, there will be four ordained to the Diaconate.  It’s a truly wonderful season – and it is a great time to be Catholic! Feliz Pascua Sacramento Temporada

Como sabes, hay cuatro estaciones en el calendario: Invierno, Primavera, Verano y Otoño. En el Calendario Litúrgico de la Iglesia Universal, hay tres estaciones primarias: Adviento/Navidad, Cuaresma/Pascua y Tiempo Ordinario (dividido en dos secciones). Sin embargo, hay otras formas de ver los tiempos de la iglesia, que me gustaría señalar hoy. La primera es la Temporada del Sacramento de Pascua: la Sagrada Comunión y la Confirmación son muy frecuentes (junto con el Bautismo). La segunda es la Temporada de Pentecostés, cuando el Espíritu Santo fue enviado a los Apóstoles y se considera el "Cumpleaños de la Iglesia".

Si bien faltan dos fines de semana para Pentecostés (vea el aviso por separado en el interior), ya hemos tenido una maravillosa temporada del Sacramento de Pascua aquí en la Comunidad Católica del Condado de Norther Columbia (CCNCC). Nueve Adultos fueron Bautizados y/o Confirmados en la Vigilia Pascual, Dieciséis Adultos Jóvenes fueron confirmados recientemente en abril, y hoy, los últimos cuatro (de los 34) niños están recibiendo su Primera Comunión. Sigamos orando por todos aquellos que han recibido los sacramentos en esta temporada de Pascua.

También tuvimos cuatro bautismos, aproximadamente 22 primeras reconciliaciones, así como varias segundas reconciliaciones, y el próximo fin de semana habrá cuatro ordenados al diaconado. Es una temporada verdaderamente maravillosa, ¡y es un gran momento para ser católico! ¡Entonces cantamos Aleluya! ¡Aleluya! Una y otra vez - ¡Alabado sea Dios! ¡Invite a un amigo o familiar a unirse a nosotros! Gracias, padre Steve
