New Mass Schedule Beginning 8/1 & 8/2

New Mass Times Effective August 1st and 2nd 2026

Next weekend, as previously announced, we begin our new Mass Schedule:

Saturday - Mass of Anticipation 4 pm - Church of St. Joseph - Stuyvesant (English)
Sunday - Morning Mass - 8:30 am - St. John the Baptist - Valatie
Sunday - Morning Mass 10:30 am - St. James - Chatham
Sunday - Samish Mass 12:30 pm - Church of St. Joseph - Stuyvesant

Thank you to all who have been open to try the new mass schedule to accommodate both the planned expansion of our Family Faith Formation (Sunday School, Religious Education, CCD) program on Sunday mornings at all three parishes and the reduction from 5 masses to 4. I thank everyone for their input, prayer, and cooperation during these days of preparing for the new schedule. I know change is not easy and I also know that some people may not come to any of our churches because of the change in time. I pray that they find a new spiritual home that fits their needs and the time that works best for them, and thank them for their time in the CCNCC. I also ask those who prefer a particular time to consider going to a different CCNCC church around the time you prefer. In addition, as mentioned previously, we are looking for some catechists who are willing to help share their faith with our young members of our parishes. The plan is to have Faith Formation twice a month throughout the school year, but that means we need more faith leaders to step up. Those who have been involved are willing to help again this year, but some are not able to double the workload. Please reach out for more information. Additionally, both Ann (Faith Formation Director), who needs to reduce her hours, and Kim (Administrative Assistant), who will be leaving her part-time position in the fall, have created job openings in the CCNCC. If you are interested and available, please contact Debbie Halpin, Pastoral Associate for Administration, at halpind@rcda.org. Thank you again, and as I have said all along, let’s try this for 18 months or so and see how it works. God Bless, Fr. Steve
