The beginning is near.

This weekend we begin the season of Advent.  During November, our families gathered to discover and share additional ways to prepare to celebrate the Birth of Jesus. 

Since prayer is an integral part of our preparation, as well as a part of our celebration of the Nativity, we will include blessing the crèche, our tree, and the meals we share with those we love, as well as the Saints of December, Christmas and Epiphany as a part of our December Family Faith Formation.

The December Family Faith Formation gatherings are Sunday morning, December 4 at 9:15, and Sunday evening, December 11 at 5 pm.

The annual Advent Wreath Workshop is the First Sunday of Advent, November 27 at 2 pm at St. John the Baptist.  We provide the materials to create a live greens wreath with candles, instruct you as you craft, bless the finished wreaths, and provide you with prayers to use at home.   Please call Ruth Ellen at 518-758-1828 or email to reserve a space.  Free will donation for this limited space activity.

Bethlehem Tree

For over 30 years, the parishioners of St. John the Baptist have generously supported local families through the Bethlehem Tree.  This year, the tree will be up and tagged by Saturday, November 26.  You can take a tag to shop for a gift, donate a gift card to Target, or cash and the Bethlehem helpers will shop for you.
