“The value of persistent prayer is not that God
will hear us, but that we will finally hear God."
The beginning is near. Often we forget that the people of God waited for centuries for the coming of the Messiah. Prophets called the people to “ready the way of the Lord,” and yet most were unprepared for the birth of the infant Son of God. Today, we know the story,
but how do we use the four weeks of Advent to prepare for our celebration of Christmas? On Sunday, November 20, the Sunday morning Faith Formation families will gather for Mass at 9:15 am at St. James, have a light breakfast, and gather to talk, sing, and listen as catechists share some ways to “wait in joyful hope.”
