"The value of persistent prayer is not that God will hear us, but that we will finally hear God.”
When we GIVE during Lent, our contributions may be monetary or time and talent.
The generous monetary contributions of those attending Mass at each of three parishes on SOUPER BOWL weekend make it possible for our Confirmation candidates to plan, shop, and cook a meal for 70 people at Joseph House. Our candidates and their families use their time and talents to create hearty meals – the first two were chicken, rice, and macaroni and cheese with green salad, and meatloaf, roasted potatoes, broccoli.
This weekend and next, we will offer Catholic Relief Service Rice Bowls to our families in Family Faith Formation. 25% of the money collected remains in the United States while 75% feeds the hungry in other parts of the world, with 190 million people helped worldwide. Using the Rice Bowl allows all of us – not just our Faith Formation families - to contribute over the season of Lent. Look for Rice Bowls in the gathering space at your parish to use as part of your giving.
The next Family Faith Formation gatherings are Sunday, March 5 at St. John the Baptist at 5 pm, and Sunday, March 12 at 9:15 am at St. James, Chatham.
Confirmation families will meet on March 5 at 5 pm at St. John the Baptist.
Families with young people receiving the Sacrament of First Eucharist will meet on Sunday, March 5 at 9:30 am at the Church of St. Joseph.
Sidewalk Warriors
Please provide cake, brownie, or muffin mixes. And, please continue to supply items for the Nutritional bags: tuna packets, peanut butter and crackers, nuts, and high protein bars – items able to be consumed without cooking. If you are able to help, please bring donations to the CCNCC office. Thank you to all of you who continue to provide food to those in need. You are a blessing to those served by this organization.
