Weekend of April 20 and 21, 2024

"The value of persistent prayer is not that God will hear us, but that we will finally hear God.”

Please take a name from the basket at your church to pray for those receiving the Sacraments of Initiation at Pentecost.  Names include our RCIA candidates and our young people receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please pray daily for the individual chosen, using any of your favorite prayers or the following:

God of the Samaritan Women, the Man Born Blind, and Lazarus,
You show yourself in many ways.
Most often in ways we cannot see until we look with eyes of faith.
Continue to bless this catechumen/candidate
who will receive the Church’s sacraments at Pentecost.
Fill his/her life and heart with your unending love and grace.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus, your Son
who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever.
Amen.

The last of the useable items collected by our families in faith formation was delivered to an agency where we met a young woman who spoke of overcoming homelessness. She said, “Thank you for the donations. I came here looking for food and toys for my twins and I was urged to fill out an application to work here.  I did.  Today we are living in our own apartment, and I will complete my bachelor’s degree in another month.”  Our simple actions along with those of others have the power to change someone’s life!

Thank you to Michaela, Aleigha, and Leigh Ann for their work at Sidewalk Warriors.  We need helpers for June 6, July 4, and August 1.  Please sign up during Family Faith Formation!
