Faith Formation December 12th

Family Formation

The final fall family formation for young people and their families is this Sunday, December 12, at the Church of St. Joseph on Route 9 in Stuyvesant. The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated by Father Steve at 5:30 pm, followed by a light supper of Mexican food, and family formation. The spring high schedule will be shared with families during this time.

Families with young people in grades K – 8 will continue with family packets after Christmas. In January, families will focus on a safe environment for their children, with a return to the Sacraments in February. The Sacraments of Healing – Anointing of the Sick in February, will be followed by the Sacrament of Reconciliation in March. Our final packet in April will concentrate on the Sacraments of Service: Marriage and Holy Orders.

Children preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation will gather for an essential retreat on Saturday, January 22 from 9 am to noon. First Reconciliation will be celebrated in early February. More information will be shared with families in early January. Any young person who is interested in reading at the monthly Sunday Mass please let Ruth Ellen know via email or call 518-758-1828. Those who wish to sing or play a musical instrument, please contact Justine Rodriguez, CCNCC music director.

Sidewalk Warriors

The number of people requesting help with essential items continues to rise. Sidewalk Warriors meet people where they are and rely on the kindness of each of us. Please continue your good work. The need is on-going for family-sized boxes of cereal, boxes of oatmeal packets, pop tarts, canned soup, and vegetables, as well as crackers. Thank you for practicing the Corporal Works of Mercy.
