The Catholic Community of Northern Columbia County

Due to the dwindling attendance and collections at St. Joseph’s Church in Stottville, the Trustees, Finance Chair and Pastoral Council Chair have recommended that we close the church as soon as possible.

While there have been challenges over the years, the Pandemic affected this church harder than the other churches in our Catholic Community of Northern Columbia County (CCNCC).

On behalf of the leadership of St. Joseph’s Stottville (formerly known as Holy Family Church), I would like to thank all long-term  parishioners and new ones who have supported St. Joseph parish in Stottville over the years. While it is upsetting to all of us, we have hope that many of the past and current mass goers in Stottville, will join us in Stuyvesant Falls (or another church in the CCNCC).

This Sunday will be the last Sunday mass and it will start at 4 pm. Additionally, we will have one final mass at Saint Joseph Church, Stottville, to be held Saturday, November 5, at 4 pm, which will be offered for all past and present parishioners of Holy Family and St. Joseph. After mass, all are invited to process (in cars) to our new home in Stuyvesant Falls for a short prayer service and lite
refreshments. We will bring the Sacred Oils, Holy Water, and the Blessed Sacrament from Stottville to the Church of St. Joseph in Stuyvesant Falls and will pray with our sisters and brothers in faith.

In the meantime, let us continue to pray for one another during these challenging days.
