Isn’t this a crazy time of the year?

Last weekend, we changed our clocks to “spring forward.” Then we experienced this week very strong winds throughout northern Columbia County. This weekend, two weeks before Easter, we celebrate the Fifth Sunday in Lent, but also Saint Patrick’s Day! There is an expression that comes to mind that “everyone” is Irish on March 17th. However, we need to keep in mind that it is still the Holy Season of Lent and in seven days we’ll be entering the most sacred week on the church’s calendar – Holy Week. Yes, in two weeks
we’ll hear the Gospel about Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem to loud shouts of Hosannas! Then, a few short days later the crowds will be shouting: Crucify Him! These are parts of our faith! How prepared are you? Perhaps, it’s time to focus in on our preparations for Holy Week and Easter! The three most holy days (Triduum in Latin) are Holy Thursday evening, Good Friday, Holy Saturday (the great Easter Vigil!) and Easter Sunday, when we sing, say or shout ALLELUIA! Please see below for the list of masses and services for Holy Week, Triduum and Easter! Invite a friend or two and help them celebrate the greatest celebration of Jesus, the Son of God, Risen from the dead for each of us. —Fr. Steve

¿No es esta una época loca del año?

El fin de semana pasado, cambiamos nuestros relojes para "avanzar". Luego, esta semana experimentamos vientos muy fuertes en todo el norte del condado de Columbia. Este fin de semana, dos semanas antes de Pascua, celebramos el quinto domingo de Cuaresma, ¡pero también el día de San Patricio! Hay una expresión que me viene a la mente: “todos” son irlandeses el 17 de
