Today’s celebration is all about the manifestation of Jesus Christ to the world as the Son of God, the new-born king, and so much more that we will hear about throughout the new year.
The three kings followed the star, searching and ultimately finding the baby Jesus. The questions for each of us are: What are you searching for? What “star” are you following? Where is it leading you?
Perhaps today, the penultimate day of the Christmas Season is a good day as any to re-think where you are on your faith journey? Do you have answers to the above questions? Do you have others about faith? Where do you go to find the answers? Many of those questions can be answered with the appropriate interpretation of the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles. (On Christmas, we offered a small “Pocket” version of the Gospels and Acts.) If you haven’t started using it, maybe today is a good day to start.
May I offer a suggestion for this week and this year? See the weekly bulletin for the list of readings from the current Sunday and the following Sunday. Read them slowly and be open to God’s Holy Spirit.
Lastly, the Christmas Season ends after Baptism of the Lord, which is usually on a Sunday. However, this year it falls on Monday, January 9th, so for the last time in this Christmas Season may I wish you a Happy Christmastime and a Peace-filled and Prayerful 2023! Father Steve

La celebración de hoy tiene que ver con la manifestación de Jesucristo al mundo como el Hijo de Dios, el rey recién nacido y mucho más de lo que escucharemos a lo largo del nuevo año.
Los tres reyes siguieron la estrella, buscando y finalmente encontrando al niño Jesús. Las preguntas para cada uno de nosotros son: ¿Qué estás buscando? ¿Qué “estrella” estás siguiendo? ¿Hacia dónde te lleva?
¿Quizás hoy, el penúltimo día de la temporada navideña, es un buen día como cualquier otro para repensar dónde se encuentra en su viaje de fe? ¿Tienes respuestas a las preguntas anteriores? ¿Tienes otros sobre la fe? ¿Adónde vas para encontrar las respuestas? Muchas de esas preguntas pueden responderse con la interpretación adecuada de los Evangelios y los Hechos de los Apóstoles.
(En Navidad, ofrecimos una pequeña versión de "bolsillo" de los Evangelios y los Hechos). Si no ha comenzado a usarlo, tal vez hoy sea un buen día para comenzar.
¿Puedo ofrecer una sugerencia para esta semana y este año? Consulte el boletín semanal para ver la lista de lecturas del domingo actual y del domingo siguiente. Léalos lentamente y esté abierto al Espíritu Santo de Dios.
