As mentioned last week, this feast is the second of our transition Sundays from the Easter Season back to Ordinary Time (part 2). On this solemnity, entitled Corpus Christi in Latin, we celebrate the Real Presence of Jesus in His Body and Blood in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar. This celebration brings each of us into a deeper participation in Jesus' mission of bringing everyone closer to our Heavenly Father. By God's grace we are called to have Jesus be number one in our lives,
our hearts, our spirits, our minds, and our souls. By our reception of His Body and/or Blood and with our Amen, we accept our part in the Saving Mystery of Christ's love for us and our love for Him and our neighbors! May I suggest that we each ask ourselves: What do I need to do today to accept Jesus more fully into my life? Is it to pray before the Blessed Sacrament? Is it to come to mass more often? Is it to be more fervent in my response when I receive holy communion? Sit for a few moments today in prayer and ask Our Lord and Savior, Jesus to give you the answer you need! Only in prayer can we each find the answer! Let us pray for each other!          - Fr. Steve

Solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Jesucristo

Como se mencionó la semana pasada, esta fiesta es el segundo de nuestros  Domingos de transición de la Temporada de Pascua al Tiempo Ordinario (parte 2). En su solemnidad, titulada Corpus Christi en latín, celebramos la Presencia Real de Jesús en Su Cuerpo y Sangre en el Santísimo Sacramento del Altar. Esta celebración nos lleva a cada uno de nosotros a una participación más profunda en la misión de Jesús de acercar a todos a nuestro Padre Celestial. Por la gracia de Dios estamos llamados a que Jesús sea el número uno en nuestras vidas, nuestros corazones, nuestros espíritus, nuestras mentes y nuestras almas. ¡Al recibir Su Cuerpo y/o Sangre y con nuestro Amén, aceptamos nuestra parte en el Misterio Salvífico del amor de Cristo por nosotros y nuestro amor por Él y nuestro prójimo! Permítanme sugerir que cada uno de nosotros nos preguntemos: ¿Qué necesito hacer hoy para aceptar a Jesús más plenamente en mi vida? ¿Es orar ante el Santísimo Sacramento? ¿Es para venir a misa más a menudo? ¿Es ser más ferviente en mi respuesta cuando recibo la sagrada comunión? ¡Siéntese por unos momentos hoy en oración y pídale a Nuestro Señor y Salvador, Jesús, que le dé la respuesta que necesita! ¡Sólo en la oración podemos cada uno de nosotros encontrar la respuesta! ¡Oremos unos por otros! - P.
