Can you believe it is already the Fourth Sunday of Advent?! Times flies as the saying goes but thank God we still have a little time room to prepare! Prepare for our celebration of the Birth of Our Savior, but also time to prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus, whenever that may be!
In the Gospel today we hear the story of Mary who went to Elizabeth (her relative’s) house in the hillside of Judah. Both women were prepared to become mothers because of their faithfulness to God. Mary was prepared to help her older cousin prepare for her baby. How prepared are we for the coming of Jesus? The coming in the remembrance of His birth, and the coming of Jesus at the end of time? May I suggest that by coming to church on Christmas will help you prepare. There is still time to make reservations for all Christmas Masses in English. Still time to reach out to a friend, neighbor or relative and invite them to come with you to Christmas Mass (or watch online).
While some of the masses are more crowded than others, some have plenty of seating, especially Christmas Day morning! Please prepare to come and join us! Go to our new website and register or call any parish office by this Wednesday morning. Lastly, we’ll do our best to hold your reservation until 20 minutes before the start time for mass. At which point we may need to release it. Thanks for your cooperation!
¿Puedes creer que ya es el cuarto domingo de Adviento?! Los tiempos vuelan como dice el refrán, ¡pero gracias a Dios todavía tenemos un poco de tiempo para prepararnos! ¡Prepárense para nuestra celebración del Nacimiento de Nuestro Salvador, pero también tiempo para prepararse para la Segunda Venida de Jesús, cuando sea que sea!
En el Evangelio de hoy escuchamos la historia de María que fue a la casade Isabel (su pariente) en la ladera de Judá. Ambas mujeres estaban preparadas para convertirse en madres debido a su fidelidad a Dios. Mary estaba preparada para ayudar a su prima mayor a prepararse para su bebé. ¿Qué tan preparados estamos para la venida de Jesús? ¿La venida en el momento de su nacimiento, y la venida de Jesús al final de los tiempos? Permítanme sugerir que venir a la iglesia en Navidad les ayudará a prepararse.
