“Were not our hearts burning within us while Jesus spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us? ” (Luke 24:31-32).

While this scripture passage is from one of the Easter Stories, these words come to mind from this past week – were not our hearts burning while Jesus spoke to us … to all of us – especially the people who joined us for Mass on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If you are one of them – thank you for being with us then and today! If you invited someone who prayed with us, thank you for inviting or encouraging them to come. Let us continue to pray that the new-born savior will continue to speak to all of us through the Holy Spirit and that our hearts will be inspired to return to a regular routine of Mass and prayer with our Heavenly Father! Let all who have come here and all who will be here in the coming year, experience the warmth and welcome that each of our parishes strive to offer! It surely made for a Happy and Holy Christmas for many of us, including me. 

Thank you to all our volunteers who helped make our churches and liturgies so beautiful! Let us continue to-celebrate the true season of Christmas until January 8, 2024.

Don’t forget that next Sunday our Mass times change by 15 minutes.

“¿No ardía nuestro corazón dentro de nosotros mientras Jesús nos hablaba en el camino y nos abría las Escrituras? ” (Lucas 24:31-32).
Si bien este pasaje de las Escrituras es de una de las Historias de Pascua, me vienen a la mente estas palabras de la semana pasada:
¿no ardía nuestro corazón mientras Jesús nos hablaba... a todos nosotros, especialmente a las personas que se unieron a nosotros para la misa en Nochebuena y Día de Navidad. Si eres uno de ellos, ¡gracias por estar con nosotros entonces y hoy! Si invitó a alguien que oró con nosotros, gracias por invitarlo o animarlo a venir. ¡Sigamos orando para que el salvador recién nacido continúe  ablándonos a todos a través del Espíritu Santo y que nuestros corazones sean inspirados para regresar a una rutina regular de misa
y oración con nuestro Padre Celestial! ¡Que todos los que han venido aquí y todos los que estarán aquí el próximo año experimenten la calidez y la bienvenida que cada una de nuestros parroquias se esfuerza por ofrecer!   Seguramente fue una Feliz y Santa Navidad ara muchos de nosotros, incluyéndome a mí.

¡Gracias a todos nuestros voluntarios que ayudaron a hacer que nuestras iglesias y liturgias fueran tan hermosas! Sigamos celebrando la verdadera temporada navideña hasta el 8 de enero de 2024. No olvides que el próximo domingo nuestro horario de misa cambia 15 minutos. —P. Steve
