Family Faith Formation

"The value of persistent prayer is not that God will hear us, but that we will finally hear God.”

As we begin our Lenten journey, remember the Three Pillars for these days: FAST, GIVE, and PRAY.  Let us remember that we can fast from eating certain foods, or we can fast from unkind words.  We can give to others through monetary contributions, or our time and talents.  We can pray the prayers we memorized or we can sit quietly talking with God and giving Him an opportunity to answer.  Think of the many ways we can make Lent a special time in which we focus on Jesus, and enrich our lives through his teachings.

The next Family Faith Formation gatherings are Sunday, March 5 at St. John the Baptist at 5 pm, and Sunday, March 12 at 9:15 am at St. James, Chatham.

Confirmation

Our candidates for Confirmation already cooked the first of five meals for the guests at Joseph House.  They are grateful for all of you who contributed to their meal fund on SOUPER BOWL weekend.  The contributions were as follows:

St. John’s             $825

St. Joseph            $635

St. James             $629

TOTAL:            $2,089

Sidewalk Warriors

We are continuing to ask for items for the Nutritional bags.  These bags are prepared and provided to those who are displaced or experiencing homelessness. The bags contain tuna packets, peanut butter and crackers, nuts, and high protein bars – items able to be consumed without cooking.  If you are able to help, please bring donations to the CCNCC office.  Thank you to all of you who continue to provide food to those in need. You are a blessing to those served by this organization.
