Family Faith Formation

"The value of persistent prayer is not that God will hear us, but that we will finally hear God.”

Ash Wednesday comes from the ancient Jewish tradition of penance and fasting. The practice includes the wearing of ashes on the head, which symbolize the dust from which God made us. Now, as the priest applies the ashes to a person's forehead, he speaks the words: "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." Lent is a time for all of us to turn away from those things that are not in harmony with Jesus’ message of love and service.  As you plan your Lent, remember the Three Pillars: FAST, GIVE, and PRAY.

The next Family Faith Formation gatherings are Sunday, March 5 at St. John the Baptist at 5 pm, and Sunday, March 12 at 9:15 am at St. James, Chatham.

Sidewalk Warriors

Please continue to help with the items for the Nutritional bags.  These bags are prepared and provided to those who are displaced or experiencing homelessness. The bags contain tuna packets, peanut butter, crackers, nuts, and high protein bars – items able to be consumed without cooking.  If you are able to help, please bring donations to the CCNCC office.  Thank you to all of you who continue to provide food to those in need.
