Weekend of December 2 and 3, 2023

"The value of persistent prayer is not that God will hear us, but that we will finally hear God.”

The Beginning is Near!

We ended the liturgical year last week with the Gospel of Matthew, which clearly speaks to our work on this earth:

Come, you who are blessed by my Father.
Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
For I was hungry and you gave me food,
I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
a stranger and you welcomed me,
naked and you clothed me,
ill and you cared for me,

in prison and you visited me.

Amen, I say to you, whatever you did
for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.

This weekend as we begin our preparation for the coming of Jesus, please remember those who need both our prayers, caring touch, and genuine welcome, as well as the physical needs of clothing, food, and drink. Each person we meet is an opportunity for us to demonstrate our love for the Son of God.

December Family Faith Formation dates:

Sunday, December 3 at 5 pm at St. John the Baptist

Sunday, December 10 at 9:15 am at St. James
