December Formation Packets

December formation packets for Grades K - 8

The December Family Formation packets for grades K – 8 were available for pick up during the past week. If you were unable to reach us at that time, please call Ruth Ellen at 518-758-1828 to make other arrangements.

In addition to the grade level lessons on the gift of the Sacrament of Eucharist, this month’s family packet includes some Advent tools for families to help slow their pace and focus on the hope, love, joy, and peace of the season. The Advent calendar, with its one-door-a-day approach, along with the age-appropriate Bible each family received, and the Nativity set most families have, provides families with an opportunity to focus on a small portion of the story of the Birth of the Son of God each day.

Some families gathered to make their own Advent wreath of fresh greens at the CCNCC workshop on the First Sunday of Advent, while others have ceramic, metal, wooden wreaths, or simply four candles in a dish. The family formation packet includes prayers for each week of Advent and provides another opportunity to gather the family together for a few minutes each day to light the candle and say a simple prayer.
