Girl Scouts of Northeastern NY
St. John's is a meeting place for several troops in GSNENY. Though not affiliated with CCNCC, Girl Scouts is a positive place where girls can be uplifted by local women leaders in our community.
Troop Goals
Each troop brings with it its own culture. Some troops are service-oriented, others are craft- and survival-oriented, while others are badge-oriented and utilize the new curriculum created by the national Girl Scout organization. Regardless of which troop you enter, your daughters will be uplifted, educated, utilized, and learn to take safe risks in a safe environment!

Troop 5589
Co-led by Dr. Barbara Dasch and Aileen "Miss Ai" Valley, LMHC, this multi-level (K-5) troop focuses on utilizing the curriculum to educate the girls as much as possible about the world around them. Both leaders are healthcare workers and strive to enhance the girls' lives by focusing on STEM-based badges, service-based badges, and survival-based badges. This troop meets at least once a week throughout the year and, overall, has the same level of involvement as a travel sports team. The majority of the troop is neurodiverse.
